With his wife, Nina, Randell came to Auburn in 1971 from Tennessee to pursue a MS degree in Fisheries. After completing the degree, the Goodmans moved away in 1973 only to return in 1975 when Randell accepted a job with the Department of Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures at AU. He served as a deacon for the benevolent efforts of the church for about 15 years until becoming an elder in 1996. The Goodman’s have two daughters: Tammy, who lives in Charlotte, NC with her family and works as a Pharmacist; and, Tina, who lives in Auburn with her family and teaches Elementary Special Education. When Randell and Nina have time, they enjoy spending time with their four grandchildren. Randell also loves to ride his motorcycle, to water ski, and to watch NASCAR racing.
